All use of our website is in accordance with these terms and conditions.
Use of our website is free of charge.
We do not guarantee that our site, or any content on it, will always be available or be uninterrupted. We may suspend or withdraw or restrict the availability of all or any part of our site for business or operational reasons.
We will try and give reasonable notice of any suspension or withdrawal.
Liability
We do our best to ensure all information on the site is accurate and kept up to date: however, the information is given as general information only, and you must not rely on it for any other purpose.
We will make reasonable efforts to update the information on our site, we make no representations, warranties or guarantees, whether express or implied, that the content on our site is accurate, complete or up to date. If you find any inaccurate information on our site, please let us know and we will try and correct it.
We will not accept liability for any loss or damage which you may suffer because of any inaccuracy or incompleteness of information on the site.
Although files are checked, no guarantee is given that files are free from computer viruses.
We reserve the right to withdraw or amend the service we provide via the site without notice.

RESERVATIONS POLICY
Bedroom reservations may be made by Calling the hotel on 01620 892802 during the hours of 9.00am to 6.00pm.
All room rates quoted over the phone will be for either one adult occupying a double bedroom or two adults occupying a twin or double. All rates are inclusive of Breakfast.
Some rooms can accommodate one extra bed at an additional cost of £40, which includes breakfast.
Please ensure that you let us know well in advance if you require a double- or twin-bedded room.
Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult or must be in rooms close by an adult or in interconnecting rooms.
Bookings made via our website will pay a £60 deposit. The balance of the accommodation along with any extra beds or pets must be paid on arrival
THIS DEPOSIT IS NON-REFUNDABLE
A debit or credit card is required at the time of booking. If for any reason payment has not been successful or the debit/credit card details are invalid the guest reservation will be deemed unconfirmed and cancelled prior to the arrival date.
Guests have up to 7 days prior to arrival to cancel their reservations without charge if the booking is made via the hotel’s own website – minus the £60 deposit which is non-refundable.
This applies to single room bookings only or up to a maximum of 2 rooms. For bookings of more than 2 rooms please refer to the Terms and conditions for group bookings.
Should a guest cancel within 7 days of their arrival date we reserve the right to charge / retain the full room rate per night.
Cancellations must be made in writing by email to
[email protected] 7 days prior to arrival. We are unable to accept cancellations by telephone.
If you have booked through a third-party web site, then you must make all amendments and cancellations through that web site and refer to the terms and conditions under which you booked.
Group Bookings and Cancellations
Please request a copy of our up-to-date terms and conditions for 3 rooms or more .
Arrival and Departure
Check-in if from 3.00pm on your day of arrival and check out is 11.00am on your day of departure. If you intend to arrive prior to check-in time you are more than welcome to leave your luggage or your car in the car park.
If you are arriving from overseas on a very early flight, we recommend reserving your room from the night before to ensure early access.
If you require a late check-out, then please ask if this is possible. There is a fee of £50 for a late departure.
We are happy to store your luggage for you while you make the most of your last day in North Berwick. We are happy for you to leave your car in the car park until you depart.
Extending your stay
We will do our best to help if you wish to extend your stay with us, but this will depend on availability, and we may not be able to offer the same room type. New dates or extended stays may be at a higher rate as all rates are variable.
Family rooms
We have a small number of rooms that can accommodate an extra bed – we do not have rooms suitable for 2 adults and 2 children. There are 2 sets of interconnecting rooms in the hotel.
Dog friendly
We are very dog friendly, and dogs are allowed in all of our rooms and the bar area of the hotel.
There is a charge of £15 per dog per night . Maximum of one dog per room.

Damage to Hotel Property
We reserve the right to charge residents or guests the cost of any damage or disturbance
This would include items such as cleaning carpets or furnishings, replacement of bed mattresses, Damage to fixtures or fittings caused by deliberate or negligent or reckless act caused by a guest or by a third party that the guest is responsible for, to the hotel’s property or any fellow guests or their property.
Should a room be unlettable due to damage then we reserve the right to recover all charges associated with unsellable rooms or for booking guests out that are due in those rooms for however long the room is out of service.
Guests’ personal belongings
The Nether Abbey Hotel is not responsible for any lost, damaged or stolen personal items.
If you should leave any items behind or lose them, if found they will be stored for 60 days after which they will be discarded. All items returned at the guest request will require postage to be paid in full.
Nonsmoking
Smoking is not permitted in any bedroom; this also includes smoking out of the windows. If there is evidence of smoking, there will be a minimum charge of £200. If the room is unlettable to the next guest, then we reserve the right to recover the lost night’s revenue from you.
Managers’ rights
The hotel reserves the right to ask any guest to vacate their room or any other area in the hotel without providing any reason and the guest will be duty bound to vacate the building when requested to do so .
Force Majeure Event
Nether Abbey hotel will not be held liable or responsible for any failure on our part to deliver
Or perform or delay in performance under our contract to you that is caused by events outside of our control or reasonable control
This includes any act, event, non-happening, omission or accident beyond our reasonable control and includes but is not restricted to the following
Fire -Explosion-Storm- Flood- Earthquake -subsidence- Epidemic- any other natural disaster not listed.
Riot-Invasion -Terrorist attack or threat of – war or preparation for war, Civil commotion
Breakdown in public transport for Railways, Shipping, Aircraft, motor transport, public or private transport.
Breakdown and unavailability of public or private telecommunications networks.
The acts, degrees Legislation, Regulations or restrictions of any government.
Our Performance under any contract with you is deemed to be suspended for the period of the force majeure event that continues, and we will have an extension of the time for performance for the duration of the period. We will use our reasonable endeavors to bring the Force Majeure to a close or to find a solution by which our obligations under the contract may be performed despite the Force Majeure event.
Other Terms
We may transfer our rights or obligations under these terms to another organization. You need our consent to transfer your rights to someone else .
These terms are governed by Scottish Law and you can bring legal proceedings in respect of the products in the Scottish courts exclusively
